As a French perfumer, Isabelle associates perfumes to good wine; and like a good wine, quality ingredients in a perfume need to macerate over a long period of time (a full symphony can take several hundred hours) in order to deliver an enjoyable and long-lasting scent. This is one of the reasons why perfumes can be very expensive.

At Lily Moon, we deliver a non-commercial, entirely handmade and concentrated perfume. Two drops on your skin will last for several hours and will gradually mix with your body odor and create your own unique scented print.

THE G CLEF

The preparation process of your bespoke perfume can last for 6 months to 1 year with a new partition of notes being composed everyday. The scents are left to macerate for a minimum of 1 month and then blended into a percentage of alcohol (or COCONUT OIL if you choose an alcohol-free perfume or a perfume balm) for a minimum of several weeks..
It is then hand filtered several times for its texture to appear pure (those perfumes with vanilla usually look darker). Samples are sent to you upon the 2 weeks of maceration.

SHARP NOTES

The perfect perfume symphony is composed with top, middle and base notes.

The top notes represent the ''sillage'' or what people smell at first.
The middle notes compose the heart of the partition.
The base notes are the long-lasting ones and represent the scent of your own perfume.

The questionnaire helps determine which smells appeal to you and how your bespoke fragrance will associate to you.

At Lily Moon, we work with a choice of over 100 essential oils from all the perfume families (citrus, flower, amber, chypre, oriental...)

FLAT NOTES

Based on your favourite scents, Isabelle will personally compose the preparations. At this stage, Lily Moon prepares the quantity of perfume you have ordered (15, 50 or 100 ml) and sends you the end product nicely and luxuriously presented into a personalised box together with the bottle you have chosen out of the unique range of collectable perfume bottles selected for Lily Moon.

PRICE FOR YOUR OWN HAUTE COUTURE PERFUME

Based on your favourite scents, your own personalised perfume will be prepared by creative perfumer, Isabelle Gellé.

The price for a bespoke perfume is £350. When using rare essential oils and absolute such as Tonkin bean, vanilla, rose, Osmanthus, lotus, tuberose and many others, the price is £499. The bespoke creation will start after a thorough one-to-one consultation to assess your likings and create the story of your perfume. Travel expenses in the UK and abroad are additional. 

All bespoke formulations are the confidential property of the client and are not commercialised. They are delivered in a bespoke box and a 50ml square glass bottle with personalised labelling.

The degree of alcohol is what makes the difference between a perfume, an eau de toilette, an eau de cologne, an after shave or a floral water. The more alcohol, the less longevity and the lighter the smell. A concentrated natural perfume will last for hours with very few drops needed!
